A gang of what police are calling ‘gypsy-like thieves” pilfered women’s lingerie from Victoria’s Secret on Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo on Dec. 2, making off with a bundle of panties and 240 brassieres.

According to police, at least two men and two women, described as Hispanics in their 30s or 40s, apparently overwhelmed and distracted employees at the store. The two men ran from the store with $11,000 in ladies’ undergarments.

‘We are aggressively working with law enforcement authorities to address this incident and deter future such thefts,” said Anthony Hebron, Victoria’s Secret spokesperson.

Police are warning merchants to keep an eye out for gypsy-like gangs during the holiday season.
