Up to no good on Halloween weekend? Expect to pay through the nose for being naughty if you’re caught being bad in San Luis Obispo.

The city is cracking down on “party activity and alcohol-related offences” on Oct. 29, 30, and 31 because of Halloween weekend, and apparently the city believes mayhem and/or fun may erupt. Extra patrols will be sweeping downtown and the neighborhoods that abut Cal Poly.

SLO police are expected to triple their usual weekend patrol personnel.

Double fines for the traditional transgressions of a heavy partying weekend will be in effect from Oct. 28 through Nov. 1. There will be a $700 fine for noise offenses, open container offences, hosting minors, and everyone’s favorite party foul, urinating in public. If you choose to gather in an unruly manor, you could be subject to a $1,000 fine.

The police have also said they’ll be cracking down on noise violations even when there hasn’t been a complaint.
