Tom Geaslen, the somewhat controversial general manager of the Oceano Community Services District, was terminated “with cause” at a closed session meeting on April 16.

Details of the termination weren’t immediately available as of press time, but according to the temporary settlement agreement, Geaslen agreed to reimburse the District $36,962.35 by April 24. The reason for that clause wasn’t disclosed.

“Neither employer, its directors, or employees, or employee, his agents, and representatives will discuss the disputes between them, or make any disparaging remarks or comments about the other… ” reads a term of the settlement.

A finalized settlement is expected by April 24.

Geaslen was hired in March 2012 with a base salary of $126,000 a year, replacing embattled GM Raffaele Montemurro—the district’s fifth general manager in four years—who was dismissed without cause on May 31, 2011.

Under his settlement, Geaslen is due all salary earned, plus payment for any accrued vacation time.
