Secret Garden's Cream Earl Grey Tea and Luis Wine Bar's Dogfish Head Festina Peche

The Secret Garden Herb Shop is really like a “secret garden.” Sandwiched between Bliss Café and the creek, it is a hallway of living foliage stacked with mystical glass jars. Each one smells absolutely incredible, so it’s physically painful to choose just one tea. The other day I fixed that problem and took home a handful of samples for my dad, the avid tea drinker. With its traditional flavor and creamy finish, the Cream Earl Grey is a standout winner. I can’t wait to get back to the Secret Garden and huff a few more jars! I could spend an hour or two just inhaling each tea and smiling like a goofball.

Secret Garden’s Cream Earl Grey Tea$4 for an ounce, 740 Higuera St., SLO.

Luis Wine Bar’s patio has it going on! Soak up those fleeting summer rays on the back deck with a few good friends and a cold glass of Dogfish Head Festina Peche, which tastes seductively of peaches and hops! Luis is known for supplying the best seasonal, craft, and just plain exceptional beers and wines out there, and this refreshing Berliner Weisse is all three of these categories rolled into a golden hued adult beverage.
