The sun beats down mercilessly, the air is filled with the scent of funnel cake, and the tunes are heard all over Paso Robles. Yup, it’s fair season.

But you can do more than rock out at a show, get your grub on, or ride that coaster at the California Mid-State Fair. A classy time can be had on the fairgrounds by local art aficionados.

Exhibits in fine arts, flowers, arts and crafts, home arts, landscapes, photography, and more are currently on display at the Ponderosa Pavilion, Frontier Pavilion, and the Floriculture building on the fairgrounds. Take a stroll and see if you agree with the winners that the judges picked. The fair is in town through July 31. Hours of operation are daily from noon to midnight.
