Several K-12 students from around the county installed a series of hand-painted signs at Morro Strand State beach. The signs are geared toward weekend revelers and everyday beachgoers, reminding them to “share the shore with the endangered snowy plover. The signs and artwork, which are sponsored by the Morro Coast Audubon Society, are meant to complement existing signs put in place by the State Parks Department, and also to represent the community’s care in preserving and protecting local beaches and wildlife. You can see the artwork at Morro Strand State Beach and at more beaches in the future. ∆
