DRY CREEK 2007 MERITAGE DRY CREEK VALLEY

I thoroughly enjoyed this Bordeaux-style red from one of my favorite producers in Sonoma County. It’s a delicious blend of all five Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petite Verdot. Beautifully balanced, it offers bold aromas and flavors of currants, plums, and blackberries that are nicely woven with a thread of herbs and spices. Quite drinkable alone, it’s best with foods like steak or chicken fajitas, grilled lamb chops, quail, venison, or beef stroganoff. It’s a great buy for Bordeaux wine lovers at BevMo! in SLO, where it’s currently on sale for $22.99.
