Ever notice that if the public refuses to buy/use a product, the manufacturer will stop producing it?

So drug-laden boats are coming to our shores (“Stemming the tide,” July 12). I wonder why?

People, you must understand this one, clear fact: If you use drugs, you are a drug dealer, every bit as much as those beheaders we’re hearing so much about south of the border. You are as dirty and responsible, friends and neighbors, as any drug lord.

You create the demand he supplies. Simple business. Deadly business.

Now, you can get help and stop. Or, if you prefer being high to being decent, at least do your kids a favor by turning them over to the county so they can have a chance at a better life.

If you doubt any damage your lifestyle might be causing, take a walk through Good Samaritan’s facilities in Santa Maria. Look into the eyes of frightened, under-nourished, rudderless children who only wish for a warm bed to sleep in and at least one dependable parent. If you are “using” the money they need, do at least one decent thing and give the kids to people who will keep them safe. And please stop reproducing!

Billions of dollars are being wasted on drug users who don’t care to be cured of their disease. And the kids are being scarred for life.

Shame on you.
