DR. LOOSEN 2010 RIESLING MOSEL

Last vintage, this German white was a tad sweeter than usual, but I prefer this 2010, which only hints at sweetness. Its pretty nectarine and apricot flavors harmonize with notes of ripe pear, honey, and lime; it’s so balanced it belies the fact that you paid little for it. Dr. Loosen’s (German pronunciation, loh-zen) value-priced Riesling is quite versatile, enjoyable with a fruit salad, stir fry of chicken and veggies, or eggs benedict. Better yet, stock up on a few bottles for Thanksgiving dinner; it’s perfect for the myriad flavors of sweet and savory dishes that accompany the big bird. Available at Trader Joe’s, it’s only $10.99.
