After three and half months of negotiations, the SLO Downtown Association and the SLO Farmers’ Market Association have kissed and made up. Only after the San Luis Obispo City Council threatened to terminate its contract with the Downtown Association did the factions parley successfully.

The Farmers’ Association will once again be running the farmer’s section of the city’s Thursday night market on Higuera. If both sides adhere to the contract, the market will soon be run much as it had been before.

The dispute between the associations burst into public view in January when the Downtown Association unilaterally took over the farmer’s section of the market and froze out the Farmer’s Association.
