Tim Covello, a candidate for SLO County district attorney, correctly believes that it is unethical for his opponent Dan Dow to have taken a campaign donation from the defense attorney of a person he is prosecuting. Mr. Dow admits that he took the money but (to my astonishment) sees nothing wrong in doing so. Instead, he accuses Covello of “mudslinging” for exposing what he did. But this pejorative term does not apply here. Mr. Dow has created his own mud. We need a man of integrity for district attorney. We need Tim Covello.
