You’ve only got a few more days to see Brushstrokes and Off the Wall at Art Center Morro Bay. The juried exhibitions, presented by The Painters Group of San Luis Obispo and Central Coast Sculptors, come down on Monday, Aug. 3.
Entry was open to all California artists and, all told, 46 paintings and 39 sculptures were selected.
Jurors included Ruta Saliklis for paintings and Marcia Harvey for sculpture. Saliklis, a Cuesta College art instructor, was recently selected as a 2026-2027 Fulbright Scholar. Harvey is also a Cuesta art instructor.
“Both have wide experience in the arts field and are esteemed educators,” the Art Center added.
“Brushstrokes represents a wide range of artistic expression in painting mediums, including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, encaustic, digital, and collage. Sculptural mediums range from stone, metal, and glass to ceramic, paper, and mixed media,” the Center continued. “All works in the exhibitions are originals, from the hand and eye of artists working to express their vision. Both groups emphasize a melding of aesthetics and technical excellence, along with an untrammeled creative spirit.”
