Dick Cheney is playing the no-lose blame game because there is no way to prove a negative. If there are no foreign terrorist attacks on the U.S. his status will be no worse than it is. If there is an attack, he will gain status with “I told you so.”
It’s the same game the Bible thumpers and all the others play who claim to have special knowledge about the future. If nothing happens, their predictions are soon forgotten. If something happens, no matter how little it is like what they predicted, they take credit for predicting it.
Don’t be fooled by the snake-medicine men.
