I can understand John Budlong of Morro Bay being perturbed by what he believes to be normative sex between people of the same gender (“Vote for Prop. 8,” Letters, Oct. 16). Most of us are uncomfortable with sexual practices that our neighbors enjoy. But I am puzzled by his apparent assumption that gay people, who are legally married, have more sex. Most marriage therapists would confirm that heterosexuals have less sex after marriage.

So I urge those who, like Mr. Budlong, are afraid that the nation’s morals will “certainly deteriorate and lead to intolerable consequences” if committed, loving, gay and lesbian couples have more sex to vote NO on Proposition 8 to ensure a decrease in gay sex under the stresses and strains of marital domesticity.
