Having been in public office, I know that staff, regardless of what department, senses the direction the elected officials, or their appointed officials would like to have them go. This doesn’t need to be written down. I used to think they knew by osmosis!
Thus, the police and their new actions of getting the parking of homeless people off of the streets (“Home, sweet home,” Feb. 23) goes along very well with the direction that the city has been taking ever since it elected this new City Council.
