CHATEAU DE ABALONE 2010 GRENACHE BLANC HALL VINEYARD

When it comes to white wines, winemaker Stillman Brown (better known for his Red Zeppelin and Stillman wine labels) has a natural flair. And yet he doesn’t make them often, nor does he stick with them. But this vintage, he got his hands on some remarkable Paso Robles-grown Grenache Blanc and worked his magic on it. Lush, rich nectarine, pear, and mellow grapefruit aromas and flavors are beautifully highlighted with mineral notes in this delicious wine. Pair it with foods you’d normally choose for Chardonnay—crab, lobster, white fish with buttery sauces, or roast chicken—and you’re sure to be spoiled. It’s selling out fast, but you can still find it in many local restaurants and at Stax Wine Bar in Morro Bay for $24.95 retail.
