Cargasacchi 2010 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills
I loved this beauty for its lush, ripe fruit and complexity. This pinot noir favors darkly fruited aromas and flavors of blackberries, boysenberries, and black cherries highlighted with notes of earth, leather, and sweet spice. It’s delightful enjoyed on its own, and a great choice for my meal at Ember where it complemented everything from squid to pizza and duck lasagna. It’s close to the end of this vintage so don’t wait long to buy it. I picked it up at the Buellton tasting room Cargasacchi shares with Loring Wine Company. It’s also available at Cargasacchi.com, and at Tastes of the Valleys Pismo Beach, it’s $38 retail.
