How appropriate, that on the very day that al-Qaeda terrorists explode five deadly bombs in London, Mr. Baracco’s opinion piece “The two wars of George W. Bush” (July 7-14) was blown to bits! His transparent and shallow assessment — that President Bush’s war was only a ploy to defeat Democrats, which (he claims) could be validated by the low public opinion polls — couldn’t have been more off the mark!
Radical Islamic extremists have indiscriminately killed innocent women and children across the globe … and all Mr. Baracco can come up with is some petty, naive, unimaginative rant about partisan politics! Despite the never-ending liberal diatribe, our president has declared an undying resolve to rid the world of these parasites!
I, for one, am glad that we have a president like G.W. Bush; who, despite public opinion poll fluctuations, has the determination to say what he means, and do what he says! I go to bed at night knowing that there is a consistent and determined hand on America’s foreign policy that will not bend to political pundits who throw hissy fits on a whim. War was declared upon the United States by the bin Ladens of the world years ago, and we better come to our senses as a nation! We’re in the fight, whether we like it or not. But be confident in our fate, because we have reelected a trusted diplomat who is the right man, at the right time, to see our country through this War on Terror!
