Now that we all have masks and gloves on I think it would be a good time to clean and disinfect that petri dish in downtown SLO called Bubble Gum Alley. It’s not a selling point or a tour bus stop, it’s disgusting. Make it happen. No bellyaching please. People are scared to shake hands now, but you got nasty old chewing gum festering in the middle of downtown in this heat. C’mon man, clean it up. Wash your hands. Clean that alley!!

  1. Get a life! Move back to where you came from. It’s a local thing, we don’t care if you dislike it. Your germaphobe opinions are the reason real Americans are still sitting at home WANTING to go to work.

  2. Gotta get on board with Andrew. Bubblegum Alley has got to go – germs or no germs. It’s just not viable in 2020.. SLO is no longer that semi-hippie-semi-educated-semi-sophisticated town we all knew and loved. It’s arrived. And believe me, I miss it in many regards.

The college kitsch vibe certainly was instrumental to a great degree in the town’s growth, and my personal romance with it. But it’s not what brings people to SLO anymore. And it’s not why I keep the romance going.

There are soooooo many other things the city and county has to offer now. The Alley has just become blight in comparison to pretty much everything around it.

    ADIOS, BAZOOKA JOE!

  3. I agree that Bubble Gum alley is unhygenic. That is why I buy my gum new from the store.
