BOGLE VINEYARDS 2010 SAUVIGNON BLANC CALIFORNIA

The West Coast Wine Competition recently awarded this brand best white wine of the show—pretty impressive. And indeed this classic Sauvignon Blanc is a steal for the bargain price of $9.99 at BevMo!, and it’s found on most grocery store shelves. It’s fermented cold in stainless steel tanks to retain the fresh fruit characteristics; I enjoyed its zingy, refreshing qualities. It offers flavors of grass, melon, and citrus, with nuances of herbs. It’s the perfect foil for spicy Mexican and Asian dishes, but not fire-in-the-hole kinds of hot foods. Pair it with green chile and pepper Jack cheese enchiladas, pizza with prawns and goat cheese, or a main dish chicken salad with green goddess dressing.
