Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner trains are back on schedule after a brief hiatus following the Sept. 12 crash between a freight train and a Metrolink commuter train near Chatsworth that killed 26 people.
The Pacific Surfliner route is Amtrak’s third busiest. Two trains daily connect San Luis Obispo and San Diego.
