A 65-year-old man died on Sept. 14 after the RV he was repairing rolled over him.

According to an Arroyo Grande Police Department press release, police arrived at Puffy’s Automotive to find several people performing first aid measures and CPR on the victim, whose identity is being withheld. The man was rushed to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was working underneath the motor home when, for unknown reasons, Rene Rosas, 47, allegedly started the vehicle’s motor and put it in motion. Rosas was arrested and booked at the San Luis County Jail on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of alcohol and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

Mark London, who owns the property where the incident took place, told New Times, “He was a very nice man, and everybody’s really upset about what happened.”
