This note is in regard to Mandy Davis’ essay regarding hunting in Morro Bay Estuary (“The birds are coming,� March 10-17).
I would like to thank you, Mandy, for writing such an articulate, rational argument against hunting in a beautiful, serene estuary that makes Morro Bay and Los Osos a draw to visitors from around the world. It continues to baffle me that some people turn a blind eye to our obvious good fortune at having a national treasure in our backyard. Thank you for putting into words what I can only feel. Mr. Ryan would be quite proud of you.
