Thank you for Kathy Johnston’s Avenales Ranch article (“At home on the range,” Feb. 5). I love California history, especially when it is local.
One thing I think is curious is that they would introduce tule elk to the ranch so that hunters could come and shoot them. That seems a bit bizarre to me.
