Denny Tedesco (Immediate Family) directs this incredible 2008 music documentary about a group of seasoned Los Angeles session musicians called The Wrecking Crew who worked with a who’s who of the music world and appeared on a stack of famous recordings such as “California Dreamin’,” “These Boots Were Made for Walkin’,” “Be My Baby,” “The Beat Goes On,” and “Good Vibrations.”

They were largely left off liner notes though they often provided the music and instrumentation attributed to the bands themselves. The Beach Boys, the Mamas and the Papas, Jan and Dean, Nat “King” Cole, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, The Byrds, and The Monkees were a few of the performers that benefited from their talents.
Infinite Music™—a Morro Bay nonprofit focused on after school music programs for underserved kids—will benefit from the screening, which will be attended by the director as well as pianist Don Randi, an essential Wrecking Crew member. Told with archival materials as well as contemporary interviews, it’s a long overdue tribute to the amazing musicians behind some of rock and pop music’s most iconic recordings.
