I was dismayed, to say the least, to learn that Rep. Capps feels it is not the right time for single-payer health care. I believe she was elected to Congress to express the desires of her constituents regardless of whether she thinks it would pass. Â How is it when many of her constituents are losing their jobs and health care she feels it was necessary to support the Federal Employee Family Leave Act? Â These employees are some of the highest paid in the country with virtually endless job security: They are the last people who need extra benefits of four to eight weeks paid leave for newly born, adopted, or fostered children. Â
Let’s get our priorities straight.  If such people are not bright enough to set aside funds in the time frame it takes to have or obtain a new child, I don’t want them working for me.
I want Rep. Capps to co-sponsor HR676 for single-payer health insurance!
