Here in California, the Democratic Party has just demonstrated that they too are willing to abandon any pretense of civility and self-respect and join the Republicans in the consummate quest for tawdry partisan advantages. They do so because they think they are in the right. But the Texas Republicans also think that they are in the right.
In the United States, less than half of registered voters have a declared party affiliation. That means that the majority of registered voters in America can be considered independents. Yet the entire political landscape is constantly scarred by an ongoing battle between two minority representations, each fighting tooth and nail to gain and remain in power, yet they cannot even manage to keep the government running.
California has a smaller percentage of independent voters with only about one out of four registered voters declaring no political preference, but it is growing. Based on the recent behavior of the long-ensconced California Democratic Party, it seems that we need more independent California voters, and I urge current members of both major parties to declare their independence to help take America back again. Just walk away and have nothing to do with the whole business.
In future elections, it will not be the party faithful that will make or break elections. As with the Tuesday’s Democratic “victories” back East, it will be the independent voters that make the difference. And when the traditional parties put up their usual sordid suspects, at election time you can relax and enjoy going down the ticket, voting against incumbents until they come up with something or somebody worth voting for. Make the politicians earn your vote.

The “Democratic victories back East” actually show that those voters thought “there was somebody worth voting for” rather than the establishment cliques. The candidates who won spoke directly to the issues that mattered to voters.
All candidates “speak” to issues that matter to the electorate, the problem is when they get in office they do the exact opposite. That famous Princeton study proves it, “Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens” analyzed extensive data, comparing nearly 1,800 U.S. policies enacted between 1981 and 2002 with the expressed preferences of average and affluent Americans as well as special interest groups.
The resulting data empirically verifies that U.S. policies are determined by the economic elite.”
Congress refuses to prevent insider trading. By members of Congress. Congress refuses to even consider publicly funded elections.
Look at disgraced Nancy Pelosis, she leaves Congress tens of millions of dollars richer. They’re all crooks and both parties are in on it. They’re all self serving and liars. At your sge, Jill, you must know this. People aren’t voting because our politicians are psychopaths and as evidenced by 2 million dead Ukrainian soldiers, will kill to enrich themselves and their corporate campaign contributors.
The purchasing power of the dollar has been has been stolen through endless bank and corporate bailouts.
Young people aren’t forming families, getting married, or buying homes. Why should they? Our economy has collapsed for those younger than Boomers.
The best part is that it’s just getting started. We don’t have much longer before Weimar style inflation occurs. The world is done with the buying US Treasuries and Congress refuses to balance the budget. Rather than pay their fair share in taxes or slash the defense budget, our elite are ending social spending and begging the world to buy our sovereign debt instruments. Our economy is a joke.
