I completely agree with the letters by Cynthia Replogle (“A coming flood in Oceano“) and Lucia Casalinuovo (“Phony survey by State Parks OHV Division“) of Dec 17. Ignored by SLO County supervisors, Oceano deals with outrageous taxes, a blind eye to crumbling infrastructure, and choking traffic and fumes. So called “abandoned vehicles” are parked in streets and lots while their “residents” trash the area and threaten passersby. When will our county stand up for its citizens and clean up the garbage in our area?

  1. Starting with the OCSD is a great beginning. The GM is wasting ratepayer money to fund State Parks’ survey in favor of rabid dunes riders (nothing to do with the OCSD), funding Pismo Beach reports with OUR Oceano money (on a project that the OCSD isn’t even participating in at this point) and the San District, under the OCSD Board President of Linda Austin is spending OUR Oceano ratepayer money to represent the mayors of AG and Grover in their conflict-of-interest issues.

It’s easy to write an anti-homeless diatribe, couched as fake-care for Oceano, but it’s quite another to actually be INVOLVED and AWARE and holding our elected officials accountable for their utter waste of OUR money right now.
