NINER 2008 TWISTED SPUR PASO ROBLES

Big, lush, and ripe yet quite nicely balanced, this was impressive. A blend of estate grown grapes including Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, and Petit Verdot, it’s an intriguing wine that keeps you coming back for more. Aromas and flavors of sweet blackberries and tangy boysenberries are nicely offset by currants and spice box notes, and toasty oak. Pair it with equally bold foods like tri-tip with salsa and black beans, grilled lamb chops or steak, or roast pork with pomegranate sauce. Available at the tasting room on Hwy. 46 West, it’s a good buy at $28 retail.
