Supervisor Hill's assistant announces retirement

Susan Devine, legislative assistant to San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill, announced her intention to retire in September.

Previously a paralegal, Devine managed Hill’s successful campaign to take the seat from former supervisor Jerry Lenthall in 2008 and went on to serve as Hill’s campaign chair for another successful win in this year’s heated June primary election against challenger, Pismo Beach City Councilman Ed Waage.

Devine denied reports that her departure is anything but congenial. She told New Times that any “swirling allegations” are “bogus” and, “I am retiring because it’s time.”

She will be replaced by Hannah Miller, a paralegal for Carmel & Naccasha.

“While we will miss Hannah’s energy, camaraderie, and strong work ethic, we are thrilled for her about this opportunity,” the firm said in a news release.
