NEW TIMES: When did you start Destination Uptown?
SCOTT ROMAINE: The first one was on May 27th.
NEW TIMES: How many poets read at this poetry slam?
SCOTT ROMAINE: It’s kinda unpredictable, really. Last time, we had ten poets come and read. I hope for more this time.
NEW TIMES: How did you come up with the slogan “Life is not linear?”
SCOTT ROMAINE: Through many different conversations with many people. We decided the only certain thing in life is that uncertain things will happen. It’s not a straight line.
NEW TIMES: How long do you intend to hold this as a monthly event?
SCOTT ROMAINE: For as long as Black Horse will let me do it. And as long as the weather permits.
