In recent years, the Community Supported Agriculture Program has been introducing its members to some of SLO County’s finest fruits and vegetables and the small county farms that produce them. As a member, you will savor a bounty not found in the local markets. Fresh fruit and vegetable lovers can sign up to receive a weekly full share harvest box, enough vegetables for four to five people, or a half share harvest box that feeds two to three people. Each week, produce in the box varies, depending on the current harvest. Locally grown crops are fresher than those found on grocery store shelves, and buying directly from SLO County farmers benefits the local economy. The 22-to-30 week season begins in April. The Human Resources Association of the Central Coast is hosting a business luncheon/seminar for business owners and people going into business on April 11, 11:30 a.m., at the Madonna Inn. Cal Poly operating system analyst David Grant will explain how to minimize the potential damage from a disaster, how to respond properly, and resume business operations quickly.
