Dalidio decision is on the way

Judge Roger Piquet is expected to make a decision on either Feb. 4 or 5 in a Dalidio-related lawsuit brought by Citizens for Planning Responsibly and ECOSLO against the county.

Separate from the civil suit brought by the Dalidio family trust against the Downtown Association and numerous other unnamed defendants, this suit is to determine whether Measure J, the countywide vote that gave Dalidio approval to develop his ranch, is lawful. ECOSLO and the citizens group claimed, among other things, that Measure J conflicts with the county general plan as well as state environmental law.

The case went before Piquet on Nov. 2, and from that date the judge had 90 days to render a decision. A judgment in favor of ECOSLO and Citizens for Planning Responsibly would make Measure J void. A verdict in favor of the county would be a major victory for Dalidio and allow him to continue with plans to develop the 131-acre property.
