New Times: Where can people get HopeDance movies?
Banner: The HopeDance Film Library has now expanded to include Paso Robles. Mary& Uebersax& and Greg Carroll at EarthTones (gifts, gallery, and massage), located at 1319 Park St. in downtown Paso Robles (238-4413) will now be renting out the HopeDance Films. Films and documentaries depict the real challenges facing us in both global and personal transformation. Titles include Peaceful Warrior, End of Suburbia, Tibetan and Dalai Lama documentaries, and many more.
Films rent for $5 a week or $3 for three days. Five hundred documentaries are housed at the Novel Experience Bookstore in San Luis Obispo.
New Times: What future HopeDance films and events are you excited about?
Banner: Giant Leap& [What About Me?] screens in SLO on Oct. 24, outdoors, at Utopia Bakery, located at 2900 Broad. Call for times. Also we will be hosting the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium on Oct. 25. We will be hosting a workshop with Joanna Macy on Jan. 9 to 11 at Dancing Deer. Finally, we will be hosting a transitions training on Jan. 17 and 18 at Dancing Deer with Michael Brownlee, the Director of Transitions Boulder, the first city in the U.S. to become a Transition Town Initiative.
New Times: Tell me more about your new venue, Dancing Deer in Templeton.
Banner Dancing Deer Farm is an 80-acre sustainably designed farm in Templeton where we host events, films, workshops, talks, ping-pong, conversations, hikes.
