Flour House's Espresso Martini and Nosh Delight's Hard Rootbeer Float

I’ve been on a 30-day zero booze cleanse, so full disclosure—this drink was (very happily) consumed by New Times photographer Dylan Honnea-Baumann! I watched him drink it, ... all of it! That counts for something, right? Here’s what I witnessed: My photographer friend came into Flour House flustered from running around town on a particularly sweltering summer afternoon. After consuming this cold cocktail, I watched my coworker melt into a relaxed state (I’m sure woofing down some fantastic gnocci and wood-fired pizza helped, too). Made with vodka, Bailey’s, Kahlua, Lavazza Caffe, and coffee beans—and served in a swanky martini glass, this caffeinated cocktail is part “happy hour,” part “get back to work.” Considering the fact a photographer’s work is never really done, this drink hit the mark beautifully.

OMG. OMG. OMFG. [Insert 10 unicorn emojis followed by a dozen heart emojis.] I had so much fun slurping down this drink. The kid in me was ecstatic and the adult in me was equally jazzed. High-fives all around. Vanilla ice cream plus hard root beer is one of those simple joys that you must try to savor whenever it might cross your path. Kinda like smelling the roses. Don’t let life pass you by, people. Tip: Order with a side of mac and cheese bites for full life-altering effect.
