We all sing “God Bless America” regardless of how we vote; we share that song as Americans who love and care enough for our country; we will sing a song for God to bless everyone.

It’s sad for all Americans to have a man diminish an office we look to to guide our country for prosperity and safety. Washington, Lincoln, the Roosevelts, these men of legacy represent the best of who we are as a united country.

And now we have a man whose legacy is unlike the others, he besmirches the presidential office, its tentacles of distrust reach out from there to extend to every political office in America.

It’s sad for the man, he could be a man of esteem, a statesman, perhaps a negotiator in the Ukrainian war. But instead he has been booked, fingerprinted, and mugshot like the guy next to him who committed a robbery.

We cannot let the disgrace of the man replace the pride we have for our country, and our unity as Americans.

Together we must remember our democracy and freedoms are who we are, and they will be defended, from any person or country that tries to take them away

  1. So we should vote for an addled, gibbering geezer who exclaims “God save the queen, man!” appropo of nothing, and his likely successor whose incoherent speaking inspired the term “word salad”, and who has failed miserably at even the modest duties of vice president? An unenviable choice.

  2. There will be more than two [2] candidates for U.S. President in 2024.

Take the time to learn more about every candidate and choose wisely according to your own beliefs.

I’ll be voting [and running for U.S. Senate] for the Libertarian because I want a government limited by the Constitution to it’s proper role of protecting our lives, liberty and property.

  3. Gary, the nation hears you and most of us agree whole-heartedly. Thanks for the post!!

To Mr. Donegan, yes I agree it’s an unenviable choice. Our current Prez is in decline as several find themselves after 80 (Mitch & Diane are fairly good examples). He stumbles through interviews, presentations and important meetings and the gaffs have gone on for decades, even while serving as V.P. Can’t claim he failed miserably during that time because he stayed low-keyed as all V.P.’s tend to do including Pence right up until the time he made the best choice of his life on Jan. 6. But even with all the flaws including memory loss he’s still currently running this Country under calmer waters, consistent, not riddled with daily tweets about the opposing political party or the media, not needing to be the center of attention, not arm-in-arm with dictators such as Putin or Kim Jong Un. And he’s surrounded himself with fairly competent qualified staff unlike the former Prez who specifically and purposefully brought a slew of corrupt individuals into the White House. “An unenviable choice?” – yes it is. But we’re not yet in the final stretch of 2024. Who knows what will happen in the next 12 months. It’s entirely possible that things will change between now and then and one or more of these candidates might not be on the ticket. One thing’s for sure, American voters will not re-elect an indicted ego-maniac facing 91 felony charges. That just won’t happen.
