Artistic Space Productions presents Swan Lake: Symphony of Lights at Arroyo Grande’s Clark Center on Tuesday, Nov. 10 (7 p.m.; $64.50 to $74.50 general, students $58.60 to $ 67.60, and children under 12 $58.60 to $67.60 at clarkcenter.com), and at the Performing Arts Center in SLO on Wednesday, Nov. 11 (doors at 6, show at 7 p.m.; 5 and older; $52 to $72 at pacslo.org).
According to organizers, “Swan Lake: Symphony of Lights is the landmark new production of the upcoming season from Artistic Space Productions. Tchaikovsky’s iconic score opens the door to an entirely reimagined world: vivid light design, illuminated costumes, and world-class dancers from around the globe transform the classic ballet into a mesmerizing visual experience.
“This is more than a performance—it’s an immersion into a story of love and magic, told through light, movement, and music. Each act unfolds like a living art installation, where timeless tradition meets bold contemporary design.”
Performed by the Grand Kyiv Ballet, this tech-forward reimagining of Swan Lake is being marketed as a “living art installation,” using modern lighting to “transform the classic fairy-tale narrative of love, magic, and destiny into a high-tech sensory experience.” The Grand Kyiv Ballet was founded in 2014 by Oleksandr Stoianov as an international touring company, and after the Russian invasion, he expanded the mission to also preserve and promote Ukrainian culture and support relief efforts and medical care in Ukraine.
