San Luis Obispo County Third District Supervisor and Board of Supervisors Chairperson Jerry Lenthall announced that the first meeting of the Avila Beach Fossil Pointe Discussion Group is scheduled for March 15, to be followed by three more meetings over the next two months. All will be open to the public.
The first meeting will lay the groundwork for future discussions about land use at the former tank farm site on the bluff in Avila Beach. Attendees can expect to hear about the history of Avila Beach and the tank farm, guidelines from the County General Plan and Avila Specific Plan, and site constraints.
The meeting will be held at the San Luis Bay Inn from 7 to 9:30 p.m. For more information about this or future meetings, call Supervisor Lenthall’s office at 781-5450.
