Before Heidi Harmon was a mayor, she was an activist. As mayor, she’s continued to fight for the same values: our civil rights, the safety of our children, and the vital need to address climate change now.
She’s a leader who encourages community participation and listens in a way that few do. She encourages kindness, and as a woman, she also demands respect.
British author Rebecca West once said, “I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat.”
Heidi is no doormat, and SLO has a mayor the city can be proud of.
