Depending on how the upcoming presidential election goes, a woman could be sworn in as commander-in-chief for the first time. And yet, an ever-present glass ceiling still looms above the career paths of most women.

The documentary Code: Debugging the Gender Gap is showing at Cal Poly’s Spanos Theatre on May 31. It explores the lack of female and minority software engineers in America and raises the question: What would society gain from having more women code?

The event will include a Q&A panel with GoDaddy CEO—SLO resident Blake Irving, who produced the film—and the documentary’s director Robin Hauser Reynolds. Seating will begin at 6:20 p.m., with the film starting around 6:30 p.m., and the Q&A to follow. For more information visit codedocumentary.com.
