A cover article regarding California’s upcoming Proposition 34 vote (“Debating death,” Sept. 13) needs clarification. Jan Chilton, spokesman for the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers, said he has his own personal concerns about the death penalty, but that the academy had taken no official position on the ballot measure.
