Since November 2006, the Befriended Felines Rescue Alliance has rescued more than 900 cats from Animal Services labeled “unadoptable” by county shelter standards. We have placed the vast majority of them; many on barn and ranch properties for rodent control and others as family companions.

All cats are spayed or neutered, tested, and vaccinated, and receive any other medical treatments prior to placement, as advised by attending veterinarians. We have served as volunteers within the county animal shelter system since 2001. Cats are in dire need of public assistance by rescue and spay/neuter services: They do not deserve to die in a county shelter.

We are in great need of financial assistance to continue helping felines who have no one else. Without financial support, we will be unable to help the many cats at the county shelter awaiting euthanasia due to overcrowding. Tax-deductible donations can be sent to Befriended Felines Rescue Alliance, care of 2599 Ironwood Avenue, Morro Bay 93442.
