Thanks for presenting Matt Kettman’s uplifting article about the increase in the California condor population (“The great California condor comeback,” Feb. 11). I consider $13,000 per bird a bargain: For those who think otherwise, note the $1 billion for a nuclear submarine, or $900 million for a B-2 bomber. We are responsible for the decline of the condor, so we should be willing to make sure they survive and thrive.
