In high-school biology class, we all learned about melanin. Melanin, derived from the amino acid tyrosine, determines skin color. Â Some of us just happen to have more than others. That stated, if melanin is just the byproduct of an amino acid, why then is skin color still an issue in this country? There should be no issue! It is simple: Skin color is a matter of melanin.
