Arroyo Grande-based painter Patti Robbins is Park Street Gallery’s newest featured artist. The Paso Robles venue will celebrate Robbins’ new permanent wall art display during the gallery’s next Art After Dark reception, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Robbins is a prolific still life artist who often paints flowers. Some of her favorite flowers to paint are tulips, protea, and sunflowers. She often bases her paintings of the latter on sunflowers she finds in her own front yard or at local farmers markets.
“[Sunflowers] are ‘happy flowers,’ which is why I never get tired of observing their cycle of life and preserving their beauty in oil paint,” Robbins told New Times in 2021.
