Step into the life of a colorful character who was not only ahead of her time, but helped define it at the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art‘s viewing of Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict on May 21.

The museum’s monthly movie night kicks off at 7 p.m. The film tells the story of Guggenheim, an heiress to a family fortune who became a central figure in the modern art movement. She accumulated not only art but artists, collecting pieces and forging relationships with the likes of Samuel Beckett, Max Ernst, Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp, and others, going on to build one of the most important collections of modern art.

The suggested donation is $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers, and includes a complimentary beverage. Visit sloma.org for more information.
