Ever wonder how to paint something a bit more three-dimensional than the standard canvas? Local artist Colleen Gnos, recently commissioned to paint two lifeguard towers in Avila Beach, has answers.
While locals wait with bated breath for the unveiling of the public art project this winter, they can get in on the artistic process themselves.
Gnos will host an interactive workshop on Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at her studio on Suburban Road in SLO. Participants will learn about the process she used to design the project and help paint the base colors onto the actual panels that will become part of the tower murals.
