What does it say about McDonald’s that they would try to associate America’s elite athletes with their bogus “food” by having their kitschy commercials broadcast showing U.S. Olympians gorging on cheeseburgers in the world of Olympic competition? The last time I checked, the only thing bleached white flour, salt, grease, and sugar elevated was blood pressure and cholesterol levels, certainly not distances in the long jump, or records in the 1000-meter run. I would like to think most Americans are food-aware at this point but, sadly, all one has to do is visit an area suffering from poverty and blight (more common every day) to see the corporal affects of a McDonald’s lifestyle. About the only thing fast food offers is a way to satiate hunger; the same thing that eating a bowl of sawdust could accomplish.
