A fight in Grover Beach on Dec. 27 sent one to the hospital and two to county jail. Grover Beach Police responded to a report of 15 to 20 people involved in a fight at Ramona Gardens Park around 5:30 p.m.

When police arrived at the park all parties had already fled. The police were then dispatched to Arroyo Grande Hospital where a victim from the fight had gone after being stabbed in the neck. The victim, a 15-year-old female, required surgery for the four-inch stab wound in her neck. According to the police department press release, another male victim, 18, was also treated at the hospital with head wounds. He was treated and released.

After investigating the incident, police officers identified two suspects. Police arrested a 15-year-old female in Nipomo and Martina Mendoza, 19, in Santa Maria. The suspects were arrested and booked at SLO County Jail and the Juvenile Services Center for attempted homicide. A police investigation is ongoing and calls to the department were not returned as of press time.
