When Change of A Dress owner Diana Gabriel heard the news that her store had won Best Consignment Store, the moment was bittersweet. It’s an award that means a lot to her, she said. However, she recently closed up her shop on Morro Street in SLO and is opening a new place in Atascadero on Sept. 1. “Going out with a bang,” she said. Pueblo at 8739 Plata Lane, suite E, will be a hip thrift spot with the same cool vintage vibe. Gabriel said people can still sell her their gently used goods as they always have, she just isn’t going to do consignment anymore. And rather than just focusing on women, the store is aiming to be someplace the whole family can shop: “Sustainable living for your tribe,” she said.
